First Drafts of Chapters 1-4 are finished

These chapters have surprised me quite a bit to tell you the truth. They are completely different from what I had originally thought out for the story, but I think they are going to fit in very well with everything else. I've taken the focus off of the characters that I had originally planned to write the story for, and have re-focused the view from new characters' points of view.
I started talking about things that I had never studied or really thought about before wanting to write what I did here, so it made for some interesting research and made me think of new ideas for the rest of the story that I had not really planned on adding until recently. Needless to say, I'm happy with what has turned out so far.
Anyway, these section are meant to be read right after the prologue; so if you want to read some of it I'll send you a sample. I decided I'm not going to let everybody read all of it until I have gone through a second draft, if even then. We'll see.
All things considered, with everything I have written, it looks like I'm about 1/4, getting close to 1/3 finished with the 1st Draft of this baby. Awesome!!!

I also have figured out a bit of a structural process for the book. I'm going to have it split up into Acts instead of Sections or just chapters. There are chapters, but they are part of either ACT I, II or III, like in a play. The reason I though of this is because I had other sections of the book that weren't going to work in sync with everything else and I needed a way to make them fit together. So I'm putting in Intermissions between each Act, in which I can fit those in without necessarily disturbing the flow of the other sections.
Alright, toodles.

Matters Re-organized

Hey Everybody,

I wanted you all to know that I made some edits on my blog for the book I'm writing- Matter Unorganized. Some of you have been invited to it already, while some of you are new to my pool of blog people...or whatever you want to call it.

I realized I had made it way too difficult for logging into the blog and expecting all of you to figure out all the security features and passwords and blah, blah... So I changed all of that.

Now, I have it set up so every time I post something new, it'll send it straight to some of you guys by email, like it should be doing right now. Also, there's no more password or anything like that, so you can just hit the link (below the email) and go straight to the blog if you care to make any comments on anything that is new. When on the blog hit the link that says Home in order to see all the posts. If you don't get the emails it's probably for 1 of 2 reasons...either I don't know you...or I didn't have room on my mailing list to add your email in there. Sorry, I had to prioritize who would hear from me the most (good for me - maybe good for you?)

There are also some other features that might be worth looking at if you are interested, you'd need to visit the blog page to see them and prior posts that have been made.

Anyway, hope this makes things easier for you and I'll do what I can to keep you all posted on what is new with the book and its progress.

Thanks,

Peter

Chapter 5-ish: Pulse Complete

I just recently finished the 1st draft of one of the chapters that I am calling Pulse. The title is explained in the chapter (somewhat). What happens to the characters in this chapter is actually the basis for my ideas of the book. I think I came up with what happens here before anything else. It all started with a dream and eventually made it's way onto about 3 pages that I had been fully proud of and excited for... So I'm happy to say that Pulse, the genesis chapter of the entire Matter Unorganized idea is finished, and I am glad to move on and work on some of the other passages that will help lead up to it.

Hey, What's this all about anyway?

So I realize that most of you have no idea what the book is even going to be about... so let me take you in to a little of what goes through my mind. We know that God is perfect and that his plan for us is unshakable. Everything that happens to us in this life is somewhat structured in a way that order can prevail because God is responsible for holding it all together, so we can make it through. But for the sake of imagination, and for the book, I imagined that the World was not created by God, but Gods (plural) and that things are not in perfect order in the realm beyond our own. The ultimate themes of the plot revolve around the idea that this life is only one that can prepare us for the next steps of our existence, but in ways that we would not have though (I won't spoil the detail). Also, one of the main ideas that I want to incorporate is, if these Gods are no longer in complete control and there is no longer any order to the world or realm in which they find themselves... then what happens to us here? If we contemplate the idea that God was not perfect (which thankfully he is) then what would that mean for us?
Anyway, I won't say too much... but do know that the book is going to follow several characters, on both sides of the veil, and that the hope for all of creation to survive will rely on whether or not the physical worlds and the spiritual worlds are truly able to become one.
Hope you like the idea. Know that though the main structure of the storyline does not follow in my ideals and beliefs completely (even far from it at some points) that there will be principles that are important to me that will definitely be included in the final draft.
Alright... see ya.

Welcome Everybody!

Thanks for visiting. I'm glad to introduce you guys into my new blog dedicated entirely to my current writing project, Matter Unorganized. This page is going to be focused completely on the book and its progress. I'm going to try and update this page as often as possible.
As you are mostly aware, with school, work and other priorities at home, I don't always find (or take) the time to write as much as I would wish. I'm also trying not to neglect spending time with my Janell, as that is the most important to me.
So there it is... on the right side you will see certain information tabs that will tell you at a glance how well things are progressing. I made a rough estimate at the number of words I was hoping to get out of the first volume of the book, and it comes out to being about 160,000 words. I divided that up into a percentage and voila, you have the top gauge giving you what I have written so far. So when it gets closer and closer to 100%, it means that I'm hitting my estimated word count and not necessarily the end of the book. Also, it is in regards to the 1st Draft of the book... When I start editing different sections of the story, then I will add a second tab with the update on editing progress. But I'll post something else when it comes to that.
There are also Chapter to Chapter progress bars.
I am finished with the 1st draft of the Prologue: With Daggers at Dawn. If you are interested in sample or want to read the entire Draft, just let me know and I'll email a copy to you. I need to tell you though, if you are interested in reading any of it that it is Fiction (leaning a bit toward Fantasy) and there are scenes that are a bit brutal. It isn't Crazy violent or Gory or anything, but I thought I'd share so you aren't too surprised if you do read it and get to one of those scenes. I know, I also wonder where the rage comes from for me to put it on paper.
Anyway... thanks for coming. Let me know if you have questions... I'll probably post a synopsis of some sort soon so you can know what it is actually about. Have a good one.
Peter
